Black Mamba - The deadly killer

Black Mamba is the second longest snake in the world. It is the fastest snake in the world traveling a max of 13 miles per hour. In African continent it is considered to be the most venomous snake. They can be seen largely in the grasslands of the African continent. And also found in areas from Somalia to S.Africa. The word Black is just in the name of the snake but the snake is not actually black in color. The inside part of its mouth only has the color black. Actually its external appearance is Olive in color. Mambas grows to the max height of 14.5 feet as per reports. It grows to an average height of 9 feet.


The bite of Mamba can cause death in minimum of 25 mins. Single bite of mamba injects venom with which almost 30 men can be killed. Black Mamba at the most avoids humans. They get away from the place if they feel the presence of human beings there. They attack human beings only if they are cornered. Black Mambas usually feed on the birds. It catches the bird and never lets it down until the bird is confirmed to be no more. Usually they bite the prey once or twice and leave them until they die and then will consume it. Mambas usually chase the prey even if it is several miles and they do not give up until they capture the prey.
